Send an RFI
This guide walks you through the process of creating a new Request for Information (RFI) in eComm — from selecting the correct log, entering the details and attachments, to submitting it for review and tracking its status.
Steps:
- 
Navigate to the relevant project in eComm.
 - 
Go to the Item Logs menu and select RFI (Request for Information).
 - 
Click Post New or + New RFI to open the RFI creation form.
 - 
Enter a meaningful Title or Description for the RFI question.
 - 
Select the Item Type as “RFI” if not already set.
 - 
Choose the Subcontractor / Party responsible (if required).
 - 
Fill in the Required On‐Site Date, Lead Time, or other scheduling fields if applicable.
 - 
Add any Related Items or link the RFI to a specific contract, drawing, or specification as needed.
 - 
Attach supporting documents, drawings, photos, or files by drag-and-drop or file browse.
 - 
Optionally add additional details or notes clarifying the question or required response.
 - 
Review all entered fields for accuracy.
 - 
Click Save and Submit, or Create, to formally log the RFI and send it into the workflow.
 - 
Monitor the RFI’s status from your dashboard or RFI log (e.g., Issued, In Review, Closed).
